A Greater Gain
He was famous and well connected. He managed a following and could have easily used it for his own gain. He was a charismatic leader, a powerful presence, and confident in the way he lived. Rather than promote himself and build his own empire however, he chose instead to embrace a more difficult life, even to suffer, so that he could make the lives of others better. He could have paved the road many that have followed him have taken, but Peter chose a better life. A life of humility, a life dedicated to others, and a life that serves as an example to the change that results when we follow Jesus.
